Nicolson is Professor of Cognitive Psychology and Dean of the Faculty of Pure
Science at the University of Sheffield, UK. He has published over 100 articles
and book chapters, together with 5 published screening tests for dyslexia. He
and Dr. Angela Fawcett proposed the automaticity deficit theory for the cause
of dyslexia in 1990, and the cerebellar deficit theory in 1995.
He also chaired the fifth international conference of the British Dyslexia
Association in 2001 and completed a senor research fellowship with the Royal
Society / Leverhulme trust.
